This book seriously changed my views of the world. It's such a beautiful yet heartbreaking story. It resembles childhood, friendships, coming of age, guilt, honor, and redemption. Our narrator, Amir, tells us the story of how he came to be the man he is today. Amir was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, early 1960s. His mother died during childbirth, and Amir thinks his dad (Baba) hates him for taking away his beautiful wife. Amir's best and only friend, Hassan, is only a year younger. Hassan's dad is Amir and Baba's servant.
